Dr. Clinton is an freshwater ecosystem ecologist whose research focuses on the hydrology, water quality, and biodiversity of urban streams. In her most recent research she and her students have asked questions about the success of urban stream restoration, impacts of stormwater, and anthropogenic litter in Charlotte streams. While Dr. Clinton is interested in all beaver ecosystems, she is particularly fond of urban beavers and how their ponds can be a nature-based solution for improving urban water quality and conserving freshwater biodiversity.
